Default Mustang Purchase

Would like opinions on purchasing an '06 Mustang GT (not preimum).
Considering purchasing this vehicle from a local southern calif. Ford dealer.
Car is in absoulte new condition (red), 5 spd with about 9500 original miles and one owner. They were origianlly asking $23,000 (way high I think) but have said the lowest they will take is $17,200. Considering the year of the car and mileage any opinions on the value of this car and would it be better to get a newer year with more miles? Appreciate any help.

I would probably do some more shopping around. Do you need financing, or are you going to be paying cash?

I paid 17,000 for my 05 Mustang GT Premium 7 years ago. Used with 15,000 miles on it. If your paying cash and you love the color and all the options that come with it and it will be warranty I'd probably would buy it. Might be hard to find a 06 with 9500 miles on it, but if your going to finance it will be closer to 20-22,000$ then you should look around more but you'll probably find more higher mileage. If going the finance route just buy a new 2014 5.0.

9500 miles is very low for that year, so if the rest of the car is in excellent condition 17k-18k probably isn't bad... I would expect 12-16k for an average condition GT from that year.

Default Thanks for the advice.

Would be putting down around $7000 and financing the rest at under 3.9%. Did a fairly long test drive (they allowed me to take it by myself for a couple hours). Drove fine but did notice a few things. 1) Required smooth shifting or did get some drive train clanking. 2) Pulled to the left and some minor vibration at the steeering wheel around 70 mph. 3) Something in the rear passenger side made noise when going over a bump. One month or 1000 mile warranty on drive train.
