Anybody notice the new Camaro ads ...

NO emissions testing here. Also when you run alt fuels you are exempt from quite a few states that do have testing. Yeah I like alt fuels. Anyway, I have never been a fan of the Camaro, not going to start now with a $30,000+ base v8 when you can get so much better for less. I have a 4100lb vehicle already, its a 70 GTO. No need to pay the depreciation, taxes, and interest on a big loan just to have a heavy car with less power and about the same mileage. The same $30k sunk in my GTO or the pit of despair would result in a very awesome ride.
I do like the Challenger, would I buy one? Well maybe in ten years when they arent so expensive. There are two on the local lot, an orange one and a black one. Nice car but heavy and I am still no fan of Dodge.
When these cars are all depreciated out I would enjoy ripping the heavy crap out of them and modding the *&#^ out of them. I wonder how light I can get an 05 GTO.

I don't like the Camaro. Not retro enough for me. If they were trying to design it to look like the 69 Camaro, they missed the mark IMO. I'll tell you though, you can get the base V6 that puts out 304 HP. That's pretty impressive.
I think the Challenger has to go on a diet. It looks good, but it just seems bloated. They should have kept it lean & mean.
I would still stick with the Mustang. I think it still the best all around car that offers you a bit of everything, power, handling & style. Ford just needs to work on the HP numbers.
I read a good article in Motor Trend comparing the 3 cars:

If you are going to buy a new car with any kind of *****....better do it fast. "Barry" is talking about forcing the auto makers to make more fuel efficient / cleaner cars. My guess is in not so many years you won't be able to buy a new one with any kind of V8 motor. Just read an article about it this morning. Of course you could buy a new car then put a V8 in it but good luck passing the emissions test.....

correct me if im wrong but the challenger was never a pony car, it was a muscle car right?
i personally like the new camaros. damn near stopped at a dealership on saturday that has a red 2010 SS sittin on their lot.
wanted to test drive it and price out an SS but didnt cuz i know it would be over $30k and at $30k a 5 yr loan is like $550/mo.
F that, ive never had a payment over 200 lol.

If I won the lotto and could buy anything I wanted new....
Late last year I was at the Ford dealer when we were picking up some maintenance department trucks to replace some that were destroyed in the hurricane. While at the dealer I was checking out a new Mustang...it was the one that had what appeared to be a glass roof in the front, had a five speed stick, etc, etc. I would be hard pressed to find a sports car that I would rather have. I believe it was MSRP on the sticker of about $30k if I am remembering correctly. Really sweet car that I would buy in a minute if I could. However, with hauling my kiddos and their friends around all the time I am stuck in the Explorer due to needing a third row. Not to mention, being able to fold down all the back seats is handy for hauling larger items from time to time.
I tried to get the wife to buy a new Mustang but she wanted the PT Cruiser instead. I don't really care for the Cruiser all things considered but the 2.4L turbo is pretty peppy and the leather interior and sun roof are cool but the gas mileage sucks. Have already had to have a wheel bearing fixed with only 35k miles along with several other repairs. And they wonder why Chrysler is going under.....
