Are they easy to use? How did it work? Do you want to loan or sell it to me? Thanks!

****, I had one for a 408W, but now that you mention it I have not seen it in months.

I am not sure it would work for a 302 based block, but I almost think it would. I will look for it tomorrow.

They are easy-cheezy to use, and the block cuts very quickly with a die grinder... Hell of a lot faster than I imagined...

If I had it to do over again, I might consider just "dry running" the crank/rods/pistons and just marking the cylinders with a magic marker and/or just working around the parts.

When I assembled the 408 I was kind of intimidated about grinding on the block and I felt I NEEDED the tool, now that I have done it already, not so much...

The tool indicated that we needed to take out about as much as half of the last joint of my thumb from each cylinder.

turns out that if I had fit the parts like I said above, I would known that I DIDN"T need to clearance the block at all when using "H" beam rods... (for a 408)

Live and learn!

If I can find the damn thing I will see if it will work on a 302 block I have and I can send it if you want. I think I MIGHT know where it is...

Hey Mike,

I can not put my hands on that clearance tool. I thought that I would be able to come up with it this weekend but... damn..

I know irt is in a box in my storage, but I did not find it. I think my son might have put it in "deep storage" in a trailer. I will take a look for it tomorrow if you would still like to heve it.

Let me know.

that's OK Jim. I'll just do it with the crank and one rod. I appreciate it though.
