Thanks for that, that would of never occured to me but that is a really good point about the ratio.

What did you use to pound the dent? A normal hammer wasn't working too well for me, not enough room really to swing.

I remember using a heavy steel rod (perhaps 1" or 1 1/4" diameter) maybe a foot or 18" long, holding the end of it against the cowl and hitting the other end with a large hammer.

That is a pretty substantial area and I remember it being hard to bend.... but once I got it figured out it went pretty fast...

Do you happen to have a picture of a final product in the engine bay for the bracing of the block against the firewall?

Definitely get front disk conversion and all new suspension. Should be around the $1500 you want to spend. Mine had front disks when I bought it but had original suspension. Replaced all suspension components and it is a TOTALLY different car!
