'66 GT350--what to look for to make sure it's legit?
#51
The info given actually tells you quiet a bit. Its the ones that are blank, and only tell where they were sold, and say "whereabouts unknown" are the ones that I would question VERY closely. When you have a "GOOD" documented chain of ownership then thats a lot to go on. The fact that the engine has been replaced is a MAJOR consideration as to the value to the car. Also it would give me a hint to look for documents/reciepts as to this repair. All this info validates the car as being a real Shelby. As far as driving several miles to "check it out", they are many other options than are available. You can contact the local MCA club and see if one of the members will do a "looksee", then based on that make a decision.
I've pretty much given up at this point..I think I'll just dump some money into my '94 instead. Screw it. :/
