But if im correct i need to put an 87 Harm on and go to a 4 bolt groove crank pully correct? i already had to move the dip stick from the side to the front because the guy before me did not know what he was doing i guess. But this is the last item for the rebuilt 302. and i wanted to make sure i got the correct harm for the motor. Any advice would help please. im a little slow at understanding things so please bear with me for my issues. I took a IED blast last year and well lost the left eye broke the neck and back and brain damage as well. so my critcal thinking skills and short term mem are a issue on top of my spelling. my engeering deg is worth less now. But please any help with this issue would be huge for me before i drop some cash on it.

First I would like to thank you for your service to our country and try to help you out since I put an 86 302 in my 66 and was perplexed when it came to the balancer. Summit sells the one I used.

It provides the right weight and offset. You should be able to mount it without and of the provided spacers and you can use a 4 or 3 bolt pulley on it. Hope that helps.

The best way to handle a situation like this is pick a year and get a matching factory setup. I picked 1969 as the target year to emulate for my 351w since of course the 351 didn't exist in 67. I bought my Professional Products balancer from Northern Tools and it had provisions for both 3 and 4 bolt pulleys.

You will drive yourself nuts trying to cobble together SBF brackets and pulleys from different eras, ie pre- vs. post 69 -vs. 80's setups.

It is cheap enough to do so pick a year, get a matching setup and be done with it.
