Default Want more sound for my 1970 Mach 1

Ok so this is my first post and I'm looking for some opinions/help. Like the title says I have a 1970 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland. I have flow master super 40 exhaust, but with the stock manifolds . Just wondering what's a good set of headers I could put on there or anything else that will help give me that real head turning roar. Also I put rack and pinion steering on it and I know that might have some effect on long tube vs short tube headers. Anything will help, thanks guys!

you could dump the mufflers before the axle. This will sound like you want for about 5 minutes, then after the headache, you wont want it loud anymore.

What brand rack and pinion do you have?I would go with http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/headers2.htm they are not the cheapest but they fit and don't leak like cheap headers do.

I would install your rack&pinion first then do your headers, unless someone has a proven combo with brands that don't interfere with one another and you can see for yourself in someone else's car.
In any case, it's often easier to modify headers than re-route your column shaft.
Get the painted kind (like Hedman) so if welding is required, you won't have to worry about ruining your finish.
When everything fits, send them out for ceramic coating and you're done.

I know some companies like tcp and rrs have a list of approved headers.

I'm sure some Cies are up to speed with fitting issues etc... I'm a bit disconnected with Classic Fords stuff since my car was done about 10 years ago.
I got a set of JBAs when I built my Cougar and they didn't clear my steering shaft like they said they would with a Windsor 351.
Pissed me off... I had to cut and re-weld one of the tube to make everything fit.
Since they were chromed and the welds destroyed the finish, I had them stripped and re-coated.
