[:@] They are not FUGLY they have more of an aggressive look than any of the other years. They look fast even sitting still.

I live in sac with a 66 coupe no need for smog. The beauty is grandfathered in. good luck im 17 and bought mine mustangs are probably the best choice to restore i found them fairly simple. But i could be wrong I am replacing the engine, transmission and read end, but today couldnt find the marks to time the engine out of stupidity. So as long as your willing to work hard and get dirty alot is possible.

What ever year you decide on, try to get one with the least amount of rust. Most of the time, mechanical stuff can be repaired cheaper and easier than major rust repair.

IM getting a 66 mustang with a little 200 straight 6 in it. I dont know that much about cars but im pretty damn witty and pick it up real quick. Do u think switchin to a 289 V8 is too big of a bite for a summer project? Money isn't a problem cause im doin it for my grandpa and hes paying for it, but will i be able to do this with ur guy's help and the rest of the internet world? do u think i could finish it before school starts next year?

The actual swap isn't that difficult. That said the best way to do it is to have a donor parts car that was a V8. You'll need a new transmission as the bolt patterns are different. The six cylinder car has four lug wheels. you'll need to swap out the front suspension and brakes. The same goes for the rear end. The V8 radiator is also larger. Even with the parts car, it will get pricy as you'll want a fresh motor and tranny. If the car you want to upgrade is really clean, the swap may be worth it. You may be better off selling it and looking for a V8 car.

I have just purchase my first mustang 1966 for the year I was born, I really like both of the mustang styles. Due to availablity and the shape of the car I bought the 66 coupe. I have begun disassembling but am looking for advise on what to do to rebuild, I have decided at this point to use a stoker 302 crate engine, but believe I will have to upgrade my trans and rear end. If this was your car and money was available what woulfd you do to improve the car? I am already looking at disc brakes front and rear, airconditioner and power sterring but what about shocks, struts, & springs , all of those little details, what would you do?
