1st., 69 Boss 429, not the fastest but IMHO the nastiest. 71 Boss 351 a close second. Might just be the fastest and not many people know they exist. 3rd., any non-Shelby 427.

the best classic mustang is the 71' mach 1 with the 351 cleveland 4v. lots of power and soooo sexy!

For the strickly Mustang and no shelby... It has to be the 1971 BOSS 351.
To date, it is the fastest Small Block American made car ever built. I favor the Blue and silver ones....

But, if we go with Shelby, it has to be the 68 Shelby GT 500 (non convertible).
