Replace fendor apron.....again!!!!

Replace fendor apron.....again!!!!
I replaced the RH fendor apron, RH fendor, and radiator support in my 1965 coupe. Everything went well except for the apron to shock tower fit.
I think something slipped out of line when the welding was being done, because now my apron does not line up with the bolt holes in the shock tower. I tried putting a punch, screwdriver, etc.. to get them to bolt up, but there is no way it is gonna work.
So.........The next solution would be to drill the holes so I can bolt it together. Right now I could only get one bolt in, the middle one, and that one is even on wrong with the nut on the inside of the engine compartment.
And then I was thinking that if I drilled the holes, the shock tower holes would now be almost twice the size they should be. That can't be right.
SO.......I think the only correct way to do it is to cut out the new apron and start over. And now that I learned what to ask for in repo parts, I wouldn't mind if it wasn't such a bitch.
Is there another way, or does my life really suck this bad??
Thanks, Chelle

RE: Replace fendor apron.....again!!!!
Hi,
My shock tower isn't cracked. I had to separate it from the apron I removed, but I did a good job, I think. I think when my friend was doing the welding, it somehow slipped out of alignment. Do I drill the holes to bolt it on, or would that ruin my tower?
As for my name, My name is Chelle (Shelly) and I'm crazy (5150) that's what the cops call it anyway, and 1965 is my car. I'm actually a 1970 model.
