RE: dash pad removal, need help
May I suggest a shop manual? The manual for my 67 shows exactly the locations and types of the connectors/fasteners for the dash pad. I know that for 67 it's almost as easy as removing a few screws near the window and elsewhere and just pull off, but I believe the 68 had different issues. Again, though, pick up a shop manual if you're going to continue mods/fixes like this, as it really helps!

Yeah, just get the thing unscrewed from the bottom of the windshield, and the thing underneath unscrewed, then just use your lessons you learned in wrestling gym class and yank that sucker off. Trust me, it ain't rocket science.

You should have nuts all along the front and side edges. Just take the radio, dash and glove box out. You will be able to feel them. I just replaced mine on my 66 a few months ago and I'm sure the mounting process did not change much from 66 to 68.

I just replaced the dash pad in my 68 fastback, the only tricky part was the screws at the bottom of windsheild. I had to remove the windsheild b/c of replacing the cowl so that made getting to those screws much easier. Good Luck!

I was just getting on here to ask about removing my 67 dash pad! I looked up under the dash becuase I was removing the other things aswell, but I wasn't sure either. All I saw was the threads off screws going the other direction around the edge..
