Default Holley carb help

Can someone point me to a website that will tell me about holley carbs?

I recieved a 4 barrel carb from my grandpa and im getting a stock mustang 4 barrel intake manifold this weekend for the mustang. It has all sorts of numbers printed all over it but it doesnt say the size and I dont know how to Identify the type or what kind of rebuild kit I need for it.

Also my pop told me that I can do some things to it to make it better for high mountain altatudes because I live in new mexico.

Any sort of advice would be appreciated.

Not sure about a site that would give you more info, maybe the Holley sit, but the model number should be stamped on the front of the air horn. Once you find that, just google it, should come up with something. As for the altitude, you just need to jet it accordingly.

There is a number on the air horn that says: LIST-1859-2
2845

Its written just like that with the 2845 underneath, I went to the holley site and it brought up some sort of 600 CFM Part #: 0-1850S Carb. It looks simelar to the carb I have but the number is kinda different. This is a very old holley 4 barrel and is it possible that the one holley brought up when I searched it and the one I have are different even though they look the same and have the same "1850" number?

Also I looked at the parts available for purchase with the 0-1850S carb and I dont see a rebuild kit!

Edit: I found a nice site that had numbers and such for older carbs and it says its a 600 CFM vaccum assist which I think sounds right considereing the holley page I went too. Would 600 CFM be too much for a 65 with a slightly modded 289?

That'd be about the right size. I've had terrible luck with vacuum secondaries at high altitude, and only run double pumpers for that reason. Of course, I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to dial in the vacuum, just not worth it, IMHO.
