Default rebuild advice

so i am about to start a rebuild on my 66 hardtop. right now its all original straight six automatic. i want to change out the power plant with an easy and affordable 8 cylinder. what would be the best thing to try and find to put into it? are there any other 60 model fords that i could look to for and engine trans or a rear end for it?

Default RE: rebuild advice

Without being a smartass, try reading the FAQ section on these forums. There's endless sources of info, including the I6 - V8 swap.

Here's one article. I6 - V8 Swap

Lastly - The swap is not just a pull and install venture. There's alot to it. Nothing that can't be done. mind you, just not something that will happen over the weekend.

Good luck with it and post pic's of the progress!
