I dont care what people call them.. I only care what I can do with them and which ones I actually own. A mustang is a mustang, cougar is a cougar, GTOs are GTOs.. every muscle car built has origins with a lowly 6 cylinder econo model. Even the Corvette. So muscle or not, I dont care. how big the engine I can put in is more important to me.

Yep the first Corvette built in 1954 was a six banger. Chevy finally got it's act together in 1955 and produced a V8. Just wondering what the value of a Boss 351 compares to a 428CJ these days. Back in August, I judged the 428CJ's at the MOCA show (There were 5 of them) and I asked one of the guys what their car was worth. He said a 100 grand easy.

Websters New World...

muscle car
n.
an automobile, esp. in the 1960s, made to look and perform like a racing car, as in being able to accelerate quickly to high speeds, but designed for use on regular roads

sports car
n.
a small car, often with only two seats, offering above-average speed, acceleration, and handling

IMO, your mileage may vary - Muscle Car is an Era, not a particular type of car. There was a time in the 60's when everyone had that Muscle car bug. It's cought on in our youth today, however, I'm afraid that the Muscle Car ERA of yester year is long gone in the main stream.

IMO, of course.
