Default 15x7 or 15x8 ?

i have a 66 hardtop and want some opinions about some rims. i like the american racing cl200s(or 200s) and wanted 15x7 all the way around but i have a friend that says i need at least an 8 inch in the back or i will be slideing all over the place. will an 8 fit with out pokeing out too far in the rear? i would like it to fit inside the fender if possible. also i never hear anyone talk about the rims i mentioned is it because they are 2 pieced if so what is the difference in 2 and 1 piece rims

I belive 7" is what they came with from the factory, but I could be wrong. 8" should be fine aswell(in respects to rubbing and sticking out) and will offer you alittle larger contact patch and agressive look.

factory was 14x5

Nothing wrong with 15x7 rims. Be sure to run proper backspacing to prevent rubbing.
There's a great page on the web showing what fits:

Try a friends computer. That PDF file is a must have for anyone looking for rims and tires. Buyer beware if you do not take a look at it.
