Default Not Classic, but still mustang

Does anyone know if 16 inch wheel from a 91 Taurus SHO will fit on a 2002 stang GT? My Dad's Taurus is no longer road worthy (Rusting apart all over), and he has an almost new set of Blizzak tires mounted on steelies. I ran a compare of the tire sizes through an online tire size calculator and they are almost exactly the same overall size except the Blizzaks are 16 in wheel and tire versus the 17s Ihave now. I guess the concern would be if the brake calipers have enough clearance.

Thanks

The bolt pattern MIGHT be the same, but the SHO rims are setup with a front wheel drive offset. Theyll actually mount up too far under the car, RWD rims stick out more (its to give even wheel bearing load). Aside from that I dont think the taurus rims will fit over the center hub of the stang as theyre usually larger in diameter.

Are you saying it may be a backspacing issue on the wheel?

I decided to call the experts at Tire Rack. Them said the Taurus has a 5 on 108mm bolt pattern and the Mustang GT has a 5 on 114mm bolt pattern. Looks like If I want the free tires I need to buy a set of 16x7 steelies for the Mustang.

Taurus/T-bird/Mark VIII/etc = 5 on 4.25
Mustang/Ranger/Crown Vic/etc = 5 on 4.5
