Default 87 ford 302 in 66 stang

i purchased a 87 ford 302 motor to put into my 66 stang. the 87 302 is a rear sump oil pan and my old 289 original motor was a front sump oil pan. will the oil pan fit alright or will it hit the cross member below. thanks for all replies, kevin

I'm pretty sure you need to use the original front sump pan and the original oil pump pick up.

Take a gander in the engine bay. Look down there and see if anything will hit the rear sump. If it does, change oil pans. If it doesn't and you arn't worried about the "pure stock" look, go for it.
