You might want to rethink just replacing the sockets on 41 year old wires. I have never heard of anyone doing it, and probably for good reason.

Are you talking about SPLICING every socket and plug on your car? Very bad idea. It would be better to just replace evertything! They sell the front harness seperatley if thats all you need, but I wouldn't just splice in new sockets if I were you.

ask yourself this question is $700 once (for probably the next 40 or so years) too much to pay for ALL NEW WIRING, pluss new blade style fuses, and the added bonus of not having to remember what fuses are what because the boxes labeling has worn. Plus you get extra slots for anything else you may add later?

Or go down to radio shack or whatever and pay for all new plugs say that only costs you 100 bucks. You cut all the wires resplice them and it works. Good for you, then you're driving along a couple of months later and you find out a couple of wires have gone bad. So you head back to the store to pick up some auto wire and replace those, probably about 5 bucks. well then you find out that some more wiring has gone bad so you replace those. The cycle goes on and on and on and on.

just checked a vendors web page
you can get the kit for about 690
I've never seen just the sockets but if you looked around I bet you could find them, or go through the hassle for taking yours apart and cleaning them up, and splicing them into all new wiring, but hey do what you want, next time my boss gives me an allowance for the mustang I'm going with painless.

no not going to use old wiring going to make my own harness the way i want it. not going to use stock dash cluster. building harness i just wanted new sockets to make it easyer to hook up switches instead of usein old sockets. going to hide most of wiring so stock harnesses wont run where i want them

like I said I've never seen just the sockets. You may want to cannabalize the current sockets clean em up, get some new bullet plugs for them, and then rewire. That's about all I can think of. Or if you're up to it, create your own connections and then you really got a custom set up!

just called painless just to see what they had and the guy there said even if i bought there harness still would have to use my sockets. lol $700 bucks to splice my stuff in na dont think so. so if your thinkin about buying 1 from them i'd call first grruminator78 you can buy a factory style cheaper than you can buy painless so if your wanting to do yours thats the way to go if your using all stock stuff. found the pigtail for ign switch so i'll start there thanks for the advice grruminator78 like i said i'm new to your fourm so hope i did'nt start out on the wrong foot?????
