Default Rusty Floor Pans

I know this is the classic section and the following car is not a mustang, however I am an avid mustang person and restoring this car for my daughter.

I have a 1971 Super Beetle. The floor pans were pretty rusty, and one of them is going to be replaced.

I first took a wire wheel to the floor pans cleaning them up as much as possible. I then took some mineral spirits and cleaned the floor pans. Then I took the rust conveter kit from Eastwood, mixed the two parts and applied. All of the rusty parts are all now a deep black color and the coating that remained seems to be really tough. I am going to coat it with the Eastwoods Encapsolator. I will let you know how it turns out.

Yep. That's how you do it, except you don't need to wire brush it. In fact, the encapsulator works best when you don't.
