I have been working with Harleys for 12 years. I know your asking about cars, but here me out. The chrome bolts ect on a harley start to rust in about 3 years, and any scrateches in the chrome look horrible. So although the chrome looks better initially, I prefer aluminum. It is a little more work to polish up really nice, but you don't have to swap every so many years for new ones.

With wheels I prefer brushed aluminum or second choice is polished aluminum. if i really need to, I can repolish an aluminum wheel. A chrome one I need to send out to have chromed again.

come to think of it, the Enkei's on the race car need a good polish... thanks. another thing to do this winter.
