shelby drop with granada kit?
Car is a 66 coupe with 302. Has anyone used the shelby drop in conjunction with the granada kit? Also, I have coil springs designed for a 1" drop - do you think this is going to be too low - I want it to handle (I have TCP sub-frame kit and thinking about putting 4 1/2 mid-eye leaf springs to lower it 1" in rear - so a slightly aggressive stance with the front about 1" lower than the rear)? I am thinking about 17x8" rims with 215x40 rubber - the tire shop guy thinks this will be safe and not rub, is anyone running this setup and having problems with the tires rubbing? Starting the fun part - putting it back together

RE: shelby drop with granada kit?
I am running an almost identical set-up on my 66' coupe, the stance and handling are incredible. However, I am only runnng 15" styled steel wheels. I am sure someone else out there has a similiar set-up with the larger wheels though. Make sure you have an upgraded upper control arm or get the kit to change the angle of the ball joint with the Shelby drop. If you use the granada kit from CSRP, the ackerman geometry on the spindles is correct.

You will be fine with that combo, very similar to what I run.
You can easily run a wider tire than a 215 40.
I currently run a 225 50-15 and am nowhere near close to rubbing up front.

RE: shelby drop with granada kit?
That is exactly what I am doing to my '65 Mustang... I have the CSRP Granada disc brake conversion, made a metal template for the Shelby drop, the 620 coil springs. I have also used the 4.5 mid eye leafs in the rear and have 215/60R15 tires and 15x7 wheels. Looks great so far. I will be tearing into the Mustang tomorrow and will be working on the whole front end.

when i did the shelby drop, it lowered my car alot. It shouldn't have though. Then, my car wouldn't keep an alignment for nothing. I wasn't pleased with it, and put my control arms back in the correct places. I know on my 66, if i had lowered springs as well, my 14 inch rims would have rubbed.
