Default Edelbrock carb/manifold on '70 grande 302

Hi there,

I've purchase a new edelbrock performer serie carburetor and performer RPM manifold for my 1970 Ford Mustang Grande 302, and the edelbrock throttle and kickdown adapter plate. Unfortunatly, I have some problems to make this swap a snap. First, the accelerator cable, is ended with a solid style "endlink" that fits into the carb throttle bracket and is held by a clip. The edelbrock adapter is impossible to use with the stock accelerator cable, do I need to go with wire style accelerator cable ?
Second, the accel. cable and the kickdown linkage cross themself when I just install the adapters. Are these adapters the right parts for this combo ?
This combo is frequently seen (600cfm/performer manifold), would anybody post some pictures of the bracket area, that would be really great and helpful... However, any help and advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

holley sells the little ball piece with a bolt on the backside for hooking your throttle cable to the linkage on the new carb. probably can be found at your local autoparts store honestly.... i got mine from autozone.
