Donor Cowl - Salvagable?
Little bummed - got a what I thought was a pretty solid donor cowl for my 1970. Replacing mine which isrusted out completely on driver and passenger side. Starting cleaning up donor and hit it with wire brush and started to get some holes. They don't make a repro lower for 1970 - so I'm going to have figure something out. They do make a reproupper which I probably will buy since I found a couple pin holes on the top of the donor.
Driver side is solid and can use it to patch up.Just need to figure out what I should do with passenger side. What do you guys think?
thanks

RE: Donor Cowl - Salvagable?
Hello, the holes in the pics look pretty small. If it were mine, I would weld them up and grind them smooth. I just looked at the pics again to make sureI was seeing the same holes as you. They are weldable in my opinion. If you don't have a mig at home,is there a local welder near you? I bet it wouldn't cost much at all.

Yeah I would clean up the whole thing and take it somewhere to get welded up, doesn't look too bad. Anything is salvagable with enough time and money lol. It should be easy for a shop to do this since the cowl is not in a car, that will safe a lot of moola
