sounds great to me!
have you heard one running?
roller cams are generally not as lumpy as flat tappet cams. might idle smoother than you think, but will be awesome once the revs come up!

of course mine would be a 289....i would still go roller cam with some retro lifters..and i have 1 5/8 headers instead but should run about the same...it'll be awesome!! I got this info from AFR's webpage.

You will find it very drivable, we have put comp cam HR-294, and HR-288 in my son's vehicles, they run great and are very streetable....

You will not be disappointed for putting "too much" cam in your car I promise...

Mustang - http://www.compperformancegroupstore...ry_Code=WDSCAM

C-1500 - http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Se...umber=08-433-8

IMO the truck is more drivable, smoother, and more powerful with the big cam than with the stock ZZ4 cam. IMO this cam is perfect for a daily driver.... The Mustang drives great as well.... but I don't have a "before" for comparison though.

You might look at just using a late model 302 roller block, probably cheaper than running retrofit lifters and cam.

I forgot to mention that we used a 2,600 stall converter in the truck, the car is manual.....

That's one of the packages AFR has listed on their site, and you can garuntee that cam will have a lumpy idle. I'm running a more mild cam and even at 800rpm you can hear it, and at 600rpm it chops pretty good, and it's an EFI cam. It'd be a good build for a weekend car, but driving it regularly the mileage will prolly be pretty crappy
