How do i get those exterior rear quarter panel chrome pieces off? Is there an easy way? I don't want to jack up the metal trying to get them off! Also not sure how to the F O R D off the hood... Any help? Thanks

In order to get the quarter panel trim ornaments off, you need to remove the backseat, remove the rear window cranks, remove the interior quarter panels and inscrew them from behind.

The FORD letters are either held on by barrel nuts or trim adhesive.

They will unbolt from the inside. You will have to remove the interior panels in the back to get to them. The "FORD" on the hood is held with barrell nuts (I think thats what they are called), you will have to carefully pry them off as its very easy to chip the paint.

There are five nuts on the backside of the quarter panel trim ornaments. They are a bear to remove, the quarter panel window and mechanism are in the way. I removed and loosened up some of the window mechanism.The nutsare even harder to reattach. If you buy new trim pieces make sure you prefit/install beforenew paint is applied.I made the mistake of not doing this and the replacements did not fit very well. If you can track down NOS parts, I thinkthat would be better. Good luck! Lowell
