Default sheet metal

Hello, I'm going to be getting the rest of the sheetmetal for my '65 convertible this weekend. So far, most of the stuff I bought is from dynacorn. I'm wondering how the "ford tooling" metal is packaged. I definately want it for the fenders and 1/4's. I want to make sure I get the good stuff. Is the ford tooling metalmarked "ford tooling" or will it have the blue oval on the box ?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

The sheetmetal should have a sticker stating it's an authorized Ford reproduction...not too sure about the box....although my dashpad had the same statement printed on the box....

I bought a Ford Tooling fender and it is definitely very well labeled as such and is not made by Dynacorn. It fit as well as the original fender on the other side and light years better than the Taiwanese repop fender it replaced. You get what you pay for in this instance.

I am looking for the same thing with hoods. The last piece of noticeable metal I need is a new hood. The repros are $150, the Ford Tooling is $450 and the Fiberglass are $450. Its tough!

By the repop hood local with the understanding that you can exchange it in new condition for the Ford Tooling if it fits like crap. The hood certainly looks a lot less difficult to stamp and line up than a fender. What was especially crappy on the fender was where it met up with the headlight bucket.

FWIW, I've had no problem with the repop front and rear valence or stone deflector.

Good luck!

The repop valences are good? that will save mea few bucks I have the original hood and it is perfect. The doors are straight and solid as well. Guess I got lucky there because the rest of the car is like swiss cheese
