If you buy it you probaby could part it out for more than you pay. The motor, trans and rear together are probably worth more than $850. But still if I had the opportunity I would put those parts in a nice bodied 6 cyl car. Use this site to search craigslist, http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/ms.cgi, best thing since craigslist.

wow that looks like way too much work. i would find another car in better condition than that. imo, i wouldnt even trust that engine, it just looks like someone spray painted the whole thing silver. you can see the overspray on the headers. not worth it. sorry to say, but the whole car is just a piece of ****. that car is dead and it needs to remain that way. the only way thats gonna be fixed is if somehow it ends up on overhaulin. it looks like theres more rust than anything else. good luck with your choices though.

Remember not to jump the gun and buy the first mustang you come across. That car is for sure a money pit. Im not saying that you cant make it look beautiful once again. Im just saying that its going to take ALOT of time and ALOT of money. My first mustang was a 1967 Coupe. It had a 289 with a C4 transmission. It was the first one that i came across and i jumped on it without REALLY thinking it through. I bought it for $4000 cash the day i saw it. That piece gave me hours upon hours of frustration. I finally got rid of it after putting another $5,000 into it. I could only get $4000 for it but oh well. So I started looking again. 6 months later I bought another 67 Coupe from the High School librarian for $4200. No rust, straight body, 62,000 original miles. Its the one in my signature and i have yet to spend any money on it. All im saying is dont jump on the first one, because you WILL regret it. Look around and find a better deal. It will definately pay off in the long run.
