RE: Timing chain cover gasket set question
the cork ones are replacements for the section of the oil pan gasket that will be getting removed when you pull the cover - toss em and use a nice bead of permatex cause those little things will give you a leak.
the black half circle is for the bottom center of the cover, where it meets with the curve of the oil pan. use this gasket, along with a thin layer of permatex on each side of it and thicker dabs in each corner.
the circlular gasket with the black on it is a front main seal, it presses into the timing cover. use a hammer and a block of wood, piece of pipe, or large socket to knock it in (dont kill it LOL). i use a thin layer of permatex around these seals too because alot of times there are gashes and scrapes in the hole this thing is being pressed into from people removing the old seal.

Also which timing cover would be better, Aluminium or the normal steel ones?
