Default Suspension question

Great website!
Have a 66 I6, front measures 24.5 to the center of fender lip rear is at 25.5. Dad replaced shocks in 1984. I have stock tires, I really like the way it sits, but ..."I think it's time for new shocks"... I was thinking about gas KYB. Will the ride hight change with just the shocks?
Thanks.

No, they will not. Shocks do not affect ride height, that's not what they're there for. Shocks absorb impact and spring energy to keep the car from swaying and bouncing off the road. They are what they're called, 'shock absorbers.'

To alter the ride height you will need new springs.
