I thought about doing one myself but just didnt seem like an undertaking that I wanted to do. Be patient you never know what will pop up. I found this one cheap this and a 65 parts coupe for $1000. Hit some back roads and keep an eye out in barns in the south no telling what youll find. Trust me I thought the i found it in a barn was a urban legend, but that is where my 65 fast back and my 67 convertible Galaxie came from.

Don't do it!!If you want a fastback buy a real one,its a lot of time, work and$$$ to convert one and you still only actually have a titled coupe.Keep looking and find a real one!!I have a 66 FB for sale on Ebay right now if interested!!

Really, I saw a article or web about someone who would take a coupe and convert it. Whether you would consider them a "company" I don't know. Either way it is a bad idea!

I know it can be done that is not the point. My question is why? If you had a fastback that was not good for anything else then I could see it. If you are starting with a coupe and doing it because you want a fastback then buy a fastback. I know they are expensive, thank the remake of gone in 60 seconds for that. The cost to convert a coupe will get you a good starter fastback if you look.

i've already checked and i can get it done for 5500 and then i'd have to get it painted anyways, Believe me i rahter have a real fastback its just i've been looking for a real long time missed a couple good buys in the area and i figure if i was to buy a rusted out fastback i'd be paying way more to get that fixed anyways so if i get a fastback it has to be rust free does anyone know of companies that can help me locate one or something better than craigslsit i live in Irvine Ca so finding one in a barn is prrety much out of the question for me

67t, If you are responding to me, I totally agree with you, the thread was about doing a conversion. I just stated that people are doing it. I am not for it at all! In fact, I pointed out the disadvantages of doing, or that was my intent anyway!
The name of the company is Drake Customs in AZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
