Default Hate Replacing Window felt..It turned out not to be so bad

It is one of those things I have put off doing for a couple reason:
1) Don't wanna mess up the paint
2) Have to mess with windo components
It is actually a little better then i thought it was gonna be but then again I have only taken the felt out thus far.

ya, it seemed harder then it really was for me. just think everything through before you put them in cuz once they are clipped in, you will break them trying to fix any problems.

still looking for a straight up way of doing it myself,,, even if turns out to take for ever to do it, don't need paint chipped and the door internals in that area s**ks

It's just an enjoyable project. Take your time and try not to bend them. Oh and triple check your putting them on right....it sucks taking them back out.

Ok I think I found an easy way to do it... Little did I know there is a bumper in the bottom of the door. After taking this out it made things a lot easier. Basically I removed the clips to remove the window from the track, and without the bumpers in the bottom of the door, it allows the window to go down far enough, into the door, to just snap the felt in there.... It took me awhile to figure it out...[:@]....

yah. did one side today. the rear is awkward. They could have said to pull out the interior before pulling out the felt.
No matter. got it all sorted, didn't chip paint. Happy out. Next time will do the 2nd half.
A friend of mine gave me some of his weatherstripping adhesive, which I'm delighted about.
It's the 3M weatherstrip adhesive in the red tube. Can't get it anywhere in europe and you can ship via plane.
His cousing briought it over from the states for him. So I guess another 2 or 3 weeks and I have everything done. only front and rear window missing. but I'm very reluctant to pull them out ...

[align=left]Those rubber bumpers, if new, are a pain in the **** to put in. Grease the area that slides through the metal holder and stick a broad headed standard screwdriver in the crack. Then push down until it pops through.
