Default New DazeCars web page on building a 9" rear end

Well I finished another DazeCars how-to/DIY web page. This one shows how I built a 9" rear end housing for a first generation Mustang. As always all comments welcome.

+1, however, I just use a pipe cutter and remove the amout I want. Itleaves a nice bevel for the weld. I am wondering though, what size steel can be used to line up the bearings. I usually put the tube in alignment, clamp, then weld. Then its trying to find a pair of axles.

Daze..
Guys like you are a real asset to this forum. Thanks for putting this together, someday I would like to swap my 8 for a 9 and when the time comes, I will be looking at this page!
Cheers!

Very nicely done. I like the drain plug. Very creative solution to the problem.

so the granada and the versailles 9 inch will fit the 65 without any narrowing?

sure will, those have been common sources for a replacement 9". The Granada Monarch units are almost impossible to find. The versailles units are easier to find, come with rear disc brakes, but are really heavy.
