Installing old radio into my 65'
20 years ago I removed the original radio that came in my 65'. I installed a Custom audio unit that ran great for 20 years but alas, I want to look at the old radio now instead of the cassete player that was state of the art in 1988. I have the glove box out along with the instrument bezel so I have all kinds of access. I have the original radio installed with speaker wires in, the light hooked up, the power hooked up, and the bracket on the back reattached. Problem is....it doesn't work, at all. No light, no sound, nothing. To the best of my recollection the radio worked 20 years ago, but I am doubtful on the light working, maybe it did not.
I have power to the radio and the switched light.
I suspect the unit is not grounded. I assumed that it grounded itself through the supprt bracket but that maynot be the case. How were these grounded? What else should I take a look at?
Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Installing old radio into my 65'
Thank you for the reply. After a little thought I realised that I had hooked the speaker up incorrectly[&:]. I have an after market stereo replacement for the dash speaker and I had hooked one speaker to the + side of the radio and one side up to the - side. After getting the + and - wires hooked up correctly it fired right up. Also the light works! Of course one thing has lead to another and I decided to paint the dash while I had all the stuff off of it. So as I write this the tack coat is drying and I'll go second coat it in a few minutes.
