HPDE and Time Trials at Summit Point, April 19
The Eastern Motor Racing Association (EMRA) - http://www.emraracing.org/index.html - is putting on a High Performance Driver Education school and a Time Trials event at Summit Point - http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ - Saturday, April 19th.
There are still slots available for each. For the HPDE you do not need to have any prior experience. It is a fully instructed driving school.
I'll be there in my '65 Mustang fastback, along with one other vintage Mustang. It would be great to see some more vintage cars out there! Evenif you're not sure about driving, come and hang out for the day.
If you not familiar with Summit Point, it is in West Virginia, about 1-1/4 hours from Washington, DC.

I looked into that once as I live like 30 min from there and it sucks cause I believe you gotta follow a pace car and they won't let you wind it up!!! I'd do it if I could get out there and go ***** to the wall... my friend did it once and said they couldn't go any faster than 60-70 mph[:'(]

Any interest? Even if you are not sure about joining the event, why not just come and hang out and check it out?
Mike,
If your with in 30 minutes, drop by and check it out bring a helmet and you're sure to get a ride. I promise, I'll exceed the 60 to 70 mph your friend experienced.

...Tims65, what are the "tech requirements" for the track (i.e. catch can's, taping off headlights, etc), and what is the sign up fee?...

As far as cost, the first 5, first time participants, can run the event for $1.00 - http://www.emraracing.org/race_for_a_buck.html
