Removing dry glue from paint
I removed my pony emblem on the fender to replace it with a new one. It was glued on.The new emblem will cover some old glue so its not a big deal.----but whoever glued the emblem on years ago allowed glue to drip down the paint from the ponys mouth..I always thought it was a run in the paint but now I know it is glue.....so I have a "practice or test" are that will be hidden by the emblem...before I try it on the glue that will be seen....what should I try to remove the glue. I tried a heat gun today and it didnt soften up and peel off. Any suggestions...the glue looks hard and clear...I would love to get it off my car...it has always bothered me. Thanks Scott
My car has a clear coat finish
could it be wet sanded off with a fine sand paper?
It is only about 1 1/2 inches long
Thanks Scott

You could try (carefully) using a new razor blade. If its new you shouldn't have any issues with it scratching the paint. Just go slowly and you should be fine.

RE: Removing dry glue from paint
I have used gas to remove glue from paint but it hasn't (glue) been on there too long maybe about 2 months, I also removed tar from the paint with gas. Might think i'm crazy for using gas but it worked. Maybe like Adrenolin said "with a new razor blade" just spray some soapy water so it (blade) will slide on the paint. good luck.

If it is clear and hard it may be super glue. Acetone (fingernail polish remover) will disolve it. I don't think it will hurt the paint but check inside the trunk or someplace else hidden first. You may have to put it on a paper towel and tape it down for a while.
