DO I NEED A CARB SPACER WITH A STEALTH ?
Installing a New Weiand Stealth today and found out that the Ford spacer does not fit , it overhangs the intake by 1/16 on all sides . Will the gasket seal that or is the spacer not used with the aftermarket intake?

No, you should not use the factory spacer on an aftermarket intake. Edelbrock has bulletins about this specific situation causing vacuum leaks. The factory spacer is designed for the factory intake only.
What I'd recommend is a 1/2" phenolic spacer, which is what I run in between my Stealth and Edelbrock carb in my '67. IIRC, a 4-hole spacer should help increase vacuum signal to the carb to improve low-end throttle response, and an open or split plenum spacer will help increase top-end. The major benefit, though, is heat insulation. Phenolic doesn't conduct heat like aluminum, which keeps the carb cooler to help decrease hot-start problems (which I had before I put on the spacer).
