Just wanted to drop in and say hi... I just this weekend bought a 97 Cobra w/141000 miles. It is not perfect but I like a lot of the modern conveniences...

The point I am trying to get across is that even though I bought a newer model mustang, I love them all! My brother in law has a 66 that I almost bought a year or so ago - beautiiful aqua metallic w/ aqual interior, 289 auto, the car runs great and he did all the hard resto work (like floorpans and such) but i couldn't cobble the money together. The Cobra cost me half what he wanted for his 66! But man, is his car gorgeous!

My point is, I love them all - all years of the Mustang - from the 66 that my brother in law has (he's glad he didn't sell it) to the 74 that my parents bought new (what a piece of junk) to the fox bodies that are so fast, to the modern style that many have and love.

I am just glad to finally be a part of this great history, buying the car that suits me, yet still be able to live my dream by reading about you guys and the classic mustangs you love and put so much work into. If I had more time and energy (I have 2 young sons) then I would probably look at owning an older classic stang. But, IMO - the newer ones carry the spirit well. I live vicariously through your trials and tribulations with your cars. Even though I have a newer stang, I will frequent this area because I love them all. My hat is off to you guys who have put your blood, sweat, and tears into your cars!

I used to have a 76' Cobra II with a 302....blue with white stripes, little hood scoop...what a pimp ride that was. It was my first car, back...17 years ago...damn. When I first came into the Army and was stationed in Hawaii.

You're 73's collection is awesome!

Oh and the classic's section? I owe the success and drivability of my car to this section. I'm glad they don't charge money for all the advice that some of these guys give....I wouldn't have any cash left over for new parts for my car!

It's a mostly a bunch of old guys who are car masters that can't type or use a computer. I love it.
