Parking brake 67 8" -> 70 9"
I tried seaching around but I cant seem to find anything.
I bought a 67 coupe and the PO swapped the 8" with drums to a 9" axle with drums from a 1970 mustang. The parking brake cables are cut and left hanging. I have read the write ups on the handbrake swap but searching for parts brings up some questions.
On a 67 with the dash mounted pull brake, how do the cables work? 1 down the drivers side then splits into 2 at the back? Left and right?
2 from the front to the back?
On a 70 do they have the same dash mount? Or did they switch to a handbrake by then?
1 into 2 or 2 full length? Do they run down the drivers side or the center?
Parts store said the 67 rear cables are interchangeable and the 70 are seperate parts, left and right.
Any and all help greatly appreciated. I need to pass inspection.
One more thing, the pullbrake assembly is gone. Would you go original (dont care about originality) or since im starting fresh go with a handbrake??
THANKS!!!!
