Default Rust off of Chrome

Whats the best way to get spots of rust of a chrome bumper or valve covers?

I have some nice looking valve covers accept they have spots of rust in some areas.

Thanks again

You can kind of diminish their appearance with any chrome polish, but they'll always be there. The only real solution is to have them media blasted and rechromed.

Depends on if they're pitted. If they're pitted, then yes, the only way to fix it is to rechrome them. But you can clean light surface rust with fine grade steel wool (works great on bumpers) and chrome polish (better on plastic parts).

Coke and tin foil followed by Eagle Ones Never Dull. Im sure those valve covers are pitted. Remember this wont fix the pitting

There's no such thing as rust on chrome without pitting.

yah, but i have for example 1 year old cragar wheels that are rusted. I can clean this rust off quite easily with Sif (household cleaner for emaile). But the rust i have on my bumper I can't get off in any way.

+1 to steel wool, for the chrome parts I had to reuse on my car I just shined up the pits! it looks good enough and money saved.

Lowes or Home Depot... Make sure it is #00... Ask for Double 00.. You can also get it at a place that sells auto body paint and supplies..
