Default POLARIZING MUSTANG GENERATORS ?

We recently bought a 64 1/2 (65) Mustang with the original 260 with a generator. Do these generators need to be polarized any time the battery is unhooked? I had to do this on a couple old Harley Panheads I had and was wondering if these were the same way. If so do you just use a jumper wire from the Gen. to the positive side of the battery for just a second? Thanks

I don't believe you have to but it's been 30+ years since i worked on a car with a generator. Any early 65 owners out ther have a FSM with a procedure?

I've had my 64 1/2 coupe for 29 years and never had to polarize the generator. I have replaced at least 3 batteries and never had a problem with the generator after installing a new battery.
