Hello, I was just wondering if the turn-signal indicator light on the instrument panel is supposed to light up when the brake pedal is stepped on? My signals work fine, but whenever I step on the brakes, the indicator lights up. I just replaced my turn-signal switch and I don't remember this light coming on for the brakes in the past.

You got something crossed. No turn signals should only comre on when signaling not braking.

sounds like a wire got crossed or thers a short between the circuit for the light & the brake pedal or brake lights.

Have you checked to see if the turn signals light up when the brake pedal is pressed? if they do then its a short with both systems, if they dont and its just the dash light illuminating then youve narrowed it down a bit on where you need to look.

bad pigtail or ground on the brake circuit of the side the indicator lights up.

everything goes thru the TS switch.
