Default 1970 parking brake cable woes

So I ordered my parking brake cables months ago (like 6 months), and at that time, I checked the part description on the boxes and the descriptions werre correct. Then I opened the boxes and said yep. them thar is'm parking brake cables. Then like a dumb *** I threw the boxes away. Now I go to install the front cable that comes from the pedal and see a problem. The cable that came out of the car has a long threaded end that goes through the parking brake equalizer and is used for adjusting the parking brake system. The new cable doesn't have the threaded end. It only has a ferrul swaged on the end of the cable on both ends. I went back to the website and the one I got looks just like the one in the picture. I also went to a few oother vendors wensite and it looks like they are all selling the same thing. Is this new cable supposed to somehow work??? If so, how???
