Yungstanger....I kindly suggest you spend more time asking questions, or just reading answers, and less time antagonizing other posters. It's already getting old.
I had my 65 with an inline 6 200 tuned some while they replace my master brake cylinder the other day. I had always had the idle set high cause it was running rough. Now it can idle down nicely. But when it's in gear and holding the brake, the engine (I think) makes this rattling sound almost like a bunch of metal utensils together. Not sure where it is exactly cause I need to get someone to help listen. But can this be the valves? Or is it because I use unleaded gas and needs the additive? As soon as the rpm's go up just a tad it goes away.
If all the whining about grammar and spelling is over, I'll be the FIRST to address his question.
There should be a bracket on the RH side of the engine to secure the headpipe, below the attaching flange, to the block. This is now reproduced, and your problem could be that simple. Alternately, look for other items which could rattle. I had a neighbor who had exactly this problem, and it turned out there was an extra, unused, untightened pipe clamp just hanging there on the headpipe.
Meanwhile, find out why it idles so roughly as to make this sound. I have had several 200 cid cars, and they all idled so smoothly you could stand next to the car and not realize it was running.
Are there any moderators at all in this forum?????? Why does a pecker head like YungStanger67 still have access to the site? Why can't he be banned? I'm already sick of seeing his posts, some of y'all have to be as well .......
