The 69-70 Cougar used black plastic front, body color rear spoiler.

I guess that's something I could do. Go with body color for the rear wing..

I added a picture with a black front spoiler to the first post.

Plus if the chin spoiler were to hit the ground then you'd have all these black gashes all around the bottom rim of it. Not pretty.

Since you asked for opinions... I think your car looks great stock. No need for the extra aerodynamics.

I agree with JamesW on this one. That is a beautiful car just the way it is. I wouldn't "Spoil" it with a bunch of attachments. Just my opinion.

Car color for rear, and car color or black for front.

pass on the chin strap, it does not look good on your car since you have the stock look going on the outside already.

Then again its your ride so go for it!

Well I've decided the spoilers don't really matter at all right now because I'm going to get some magnums before I decide to do anything else to the exterior. Thanks for all the input guys

Putting them on 'indefinite hold' is probably the best thing you can do. Just changing the wheels might influence your decisions. I'm not sure which rear solution (if any) would be a clear improvement. Then again, I'll have to look at the pictures at home (work internet filters = ).

Generally and assuming that the wing or spoiler fits the rest of the car's shape - I agree with the idea of body color for any aero mod above the bumper level and black for anything below. In the case of these earlier cars, the whole point of having chrome bumpers and other bright work is to draw the eye toward them. Don't put them in visual competition with anything else.
