Default classic mustang help

ok, so im trying to make a move into the Classic Mustang world (which sits out of reach of my budget) with a 65 mustang thats mid project.

Heres the ad:http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/1250900139.html

i asked the guy if it was a mustang II front end, and the best answer he gave me was that it had a rod and customs power rack and was coil over (so i am assuming yes)

i was wondering if i can get a 385 series motor in there with that style front end.

They guy says 4 grand is his lowest price, i can come up with that in two or three weeks.

Any thoughts or input appreciated,

Plan is a 460 stroked or blown, tko tranny, and 9 inch rear, fun weekend car.

Thanks
N.a

Nothing like jumping in with both feet....

If this is the type of restomod you see yourself doing... then 4K isn't a bad price for what all he has in it.

It's a big jigsaw puzzle right now that will take another 15K to complete

it seems like a great point for restauration. the parts in there are already worth the 4k. But yes, as James said, you'll need a hell of a lot more money to finish it. Or find another one where you can take the rest out and you still don't have engine, gearbox, driveshaft ...

The 460 you are planning is at least a 10k investment, if you build it right.

You should be able to fit a 460 in that engine bay. Headers may be tricky (you'll need custom headers), but I'm sure you can figure something out. I agree with James, it's a decent price for what's there, but it's going to take more to get it all into driveable shape.

i understand that, still tossing the idea around. My thoughts would be to get the 9 inch finished, and then make up my mind if i want to build up a 460/stick or i have access to a Cleveland and toploader.

Thanks for the advise
