MonsterBilly - Thank you very much for that link. Those engines seem like a great deal. I looked around the internet, and almost everyone I found said they were great. I sent them an email and will probably call when I hear back.

The 8" will be ok as long as you give it a good 4-pinion differential (or TrueTrac) and don't abuse it too much. Drag launches with slicks will grenade it in short order, but everyday driving with street tires probably won't hurt it. I haven't managed to do any damage to my 8" with the stock 2-pinion open diff behind my 331, and I abuse it regularly.

An 8.8 or 9" isn't a bad idea, but finding one with the right width is going to be a problem for you. Fox body 8.8's are set up perfectly for 67-68 cars, but will be a bit wide on your car. Finding a 9" the right width is almost impossible.

408 stroker, yes a 347 can make great power but a 408 makes way more much easier. If you want to go smaller cubes the 351w is much stronger than a 347.

I just picked up a 9" for me 66 for 1100 with my pick of gears and a traclok

You will kill the c4 before you kill the 8"

Just run street tires and you will be fine. 8" rear ends ae stronger than people lead on to.

It is not very tough to cut down a rear end to fit. you just

I think it is a lot easier than keeping my computer running.

as long as you run street tires and dont drive like you stole it all the time you will be alright. If you find yourself stomping on the pedal all the time start saving your money. you will need it to replace the trans.

As alot of people on this forum know I work for T and L. So I am a little basis. Before you decide on an engine I would give Lloyd a call and If you plan on putting juice to the engine you are better off letting your engine builder know now so it can be built to handle it. If you want a 8.8 rearend look for a late 90's ranger they fit without needing to be cut down. As for tuff dawg engines check this thread out from the Mustang II section. https://mustangforums.com/forum/must...g-engines.html

mustanglover66 - I did see that thread but read other places that they are good about honoring warrantys, and that was the only negative feedback I found. I am just figuring out that I wont be able to afford an engine for quite a while considering all the other stuff I have to do.

On the other hand, I am a little worried about what I am seeing about T&L, and I will probably not use them. They are reminding me of John Hennesey. Here are a few links (the BBB concerns me the most, I have NEVER seen a business with so many problems):

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...t=96377&page=2

http://forums.popularhotrodding.com/...ely/index.html

etc, etc, etc. Now I am thinking I will try to find a local builder. Is anyone aware of some in Colorado?
