Valve Spring Question
I just had 7/16 rollor studs put on my 69 351w, the machine shop said i'd be ok to use the stock spring but i figured id make sure, here is the cam im running....
magnum cams (purch)
intake exhaust
Valve adjustment Hyd Hyd
Gross Valve Lift .50 .500
Duration at
.006 tappet Lift 270 270
Valve Timing Open Close
at .006 int 29 BTDC 61 ABDC
these specs are for cams installed
at 106 intake center line
intake exhaust
Duration at .050 224 224
Lobe Lift .3130 .3130
Lobe Separation 110
Recommended cc valve sprg 972
valve spring spec Furnished
with springs
Everything above is all whats on the "Cam Card" that i have with the cam installed in the engine already. Any advice would be very helpful

Unless you plan on driving it around without spinning it up to high RPM as I would expect to be done with such a camshaft, I would use the recommended spring. .500 inch gross valve lift is a little more than I would expect from a stock spring, but that's just me.
