Replacing door skins on a '65
Can anyone tell me about your experiences with replacing a door skin by yourself? I have talked to people that say it was not that complicated, to those that say "only leave it to a professional". I have a 110v MIG welder, and I have some (limited) experience with bodywork - but is hanging a door skin really that difficult? I guess, the worst thing I could do is really screw it up, and have to find another door ... Also, when the original door skin is removed, how do you maintain the shape of the door such that the new skin goes on in the correct location (to keep body lines aligned)?
Thanks for any & all responses.

new doors are cheap. I bought a dynacorn hood for my 67 because the time and bodywork required was not worth the 160.00 dollars for a new one. The aftermarket hood (dynacorn) is actually very good quality!
I replaced both quarter panels about a year ago.. lets just say i will NEVER do it again! show us some pics but from what im guessing the blood, sweat, tears, money, hard labor is NOT worth the 300.00 (looking at NPD catalog now). plus they can be found cheaper i know...

Kevin Tetz has a good DVD on the subject-I'd recommend all his videos but this one in particular addresses door skin replacement. You say you have limited welding experience--if you can do a small rosette weld you should be ok. You will need a body hammer/dolly as well--so you will need to get one or borrow one. Get the video first and then decide if you think its something you want to tackle.
I've never seen the complete doors (from anyone not just NPD) but I've heard mixed reviews on them.

We changed our drivers side door skin the frame was excellent with no rust and I could not get the dent out.
Was actually pretty easy and took 1 day to do it. We did not remove the glass or roller mechanism.
