clutch pedal adjustment trouble W/ 260 3spd
I have the adjustment nut adjusted all the way to the end of the rod at the z bar, but still am just barely able to disengage clutch. Clutch is new on 64.5 with 260 w/ freshly rebuilt 3 spd. I read the adjustments in the book about free travel and total travel, but when I tried this procedure, problem seemed worse. Am I missing something? Without being able to adjust further out on the pedal rod I sometime have trouble finding gears as I have to almost press the pedal through the floor to work the clutch.

Idk, but as the clutch wears the release point will move up higher in the pedal swing.
Make sure you keep at least a little free play at the top of the stroke or you will toast the throwout bearing in pretty short order. You don't need to keep the full amount of recommended free play but you need some.
So, I think you might see how it wears in while making sure you fully depress the clutch every time, after consciously doing so for a while it will become second nature.

Equalizer may be slightly bent. It seems that when force is applied to the clutch pedal, the motion is somewhat lateral instead of front to back. Tried to find a new equalizer bar, but they only make them for later 65's(eq bar has bend while lower rod is straight as opposed to the 64.5 that has a straight eq bar and a curved lower rod). can I use the later 65 equalizer and straight lower rod on a 64.5? Or am I stuck trying to straighten the bar I have and stick w/ original setup? Apparently, 64.5 eq bars/lower rods are not available.
