Default engine position 65 coupe (351w)

I have installed Heidts mustang II front susp in my coupe and installed 351w, my problem is it looks like the engine sits to high. I have double checked my dimensions and all seems good but it appears I will need a cowl hood, 3 1/2" or more. Has anyone else had this installation and what problems were encountered.
thanks jb
if anyone has pics I would love to see them.

It's not easy to get a 351W under a stock hood, if you use a high-rise intake.

My son has a 66 with a 351, RPM Air Gap intake, and yea it is close, we managed to get a "low pro" air cleaner under the hood with the Mighty Demon carb, (no choke), but NO air cleaner made would work with a more conventional carb.

So we ended up making a shaker...

Anyway, look at your possibilities concerning dropping the engine a little more, I think some RMP mounts will drop it about 1/2", you might be able to get a little more with some creative thinking.

Oh yea, the RMP mounts might not work with your setup, but you get the idea....
